Scientific calculator
Trig, logs, powers, and roots. Type or tap, and see the answer live.
Using the scientific calculator
This calculator handles everything a standard scientific model does: the four basic operations, powers and roots, trigonometry, logarithms, parentheses, and the constants pi and e. You can tap the keys or type an expression directly, and the answer previews live as you build it.
What it supports
- Trigonometry: sin, cos, tan, with a Deg/Rad toggle.
- Logarithms: log (base 10) and ln (natural log).
- Powers and roots: x^y for powers and the square root key.
- Grouping with parentheses and the constants pi and e.
It follows the standard order of operations, so multiplication and division are evaluated before addition and subtraction, and anything in parentheses comes first.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use the scientific calculator?
Tap the keys to build an expression, or type it on your keyboard. The result appears live under your input, and the equals key locks it in.
Does it follow the order of operations?
Yes. It respects standard precedence, so 2 + 3 × 4 returns 14, not 20, and parentheses are evaluated first.
How do I switch between degrees and radians?
Use the Deg button in the top left. It toggles to Rad, and the trigonometry functions then interpret angles accordingly.
How do I calculate a square root or a power?
Use the square root key for roots, and the x^y key for powers. For example, type 2 then x^y then 10 to get 1024.
Can I type expressions instead of tapping?
Yes. The input accepts typed expressions including functions like sin, cos, log, and sqrt, parentheses, and the symbols for pi and e.
